As Governor of New Mexico, I invite you to travel our New Mexico Fiber Arts Trails developed by New Mexico Arts, our state arts agency and a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
Our Arts Trails are designed to put artists on the map and bring the market to them.
Our Arts Trails are designed to put our artists on the map and bring the market to them, and are part of our arts-based economic development and cultural tourism initiatives.
You can learn about fiber arts from "sheep to shawl" as you visit artists' studios, galleries and cooperatives. The Fiber Arts Trails offer educational experiences for all ages, including weaving and knitting classes. Families and children will especially delight in the opportunities to pet sheep or hug alpacas at ranches and farms. Meet talented artists who practice traditional Native American and Hispanic art forms, as well as contemporary fiber artists.
Explore and support creativity at its source, as you travel our scenic roads and see the enchanting landscapes that inspire our artists.
