Plan your own fiber tour of New Mexico...
A note about the print version of the New Mexico Fiber Arts Trails guide:
Some sites listed in the original New Mexico Fiber Arts Trails guide (available at tourist centers around the state and beyond) have closed, moved, or are no longer participating in the project. Although our print guide is not being updated, we have updated our online content to reflect these changes.
Two trail sites are designated as Fiber Network sites, where travelers can inquire about the status and opening hours of specific sites on their itinerary.
- North Central and Northwest New Mexico Fiber Network Site:
Española Valley Fiber Arts Center (505) 747-3577
- Southern New Mexico Fiber Network Site:
The Common Thread in Silver City, operated by the Southwest Women's Fiber Arts Collective (575) 538-5733
While some rural fiber arts enterprises in New Mexico have existed for generations, others open and close over the course of several years. Although some sites featured in the original guide have closed their doors, New Mexico's fiber arts economy remains strong. New enterprises have opened their doors and, although we have not been able to include them here, their presence is imperative to the creative and economic development of our state. Please do not hesitate to look beyond the New Mexico Fiber Arts Trails in planning your tour of fiber destinations in New Mexico.
