At Julie Wagner's 100-year-old adobe, it's hard to tell where nature leaves off and the studio begins. With sweeping vistas of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, this working space is a delightful haven for Wagner's fiber sculptures, handmade books, and works on paper. Wagner remembers childhood days spent roaming the woods and bringing home leaves, bugs, and rocks – firsthand teachers about nature's lifecycles. Today, she gathers many materials from the landscape that end up in her artwork.
